About Me
Tell me about a time when you felt discriminated against, picked on, or bullied and how that impacts how you do your job.
At a prior job, a supervisor made disparaging comments about a new hair color that I decided to try, including asking when things would “change back”. This color was identical to another employee in the office, who was the inspiration behind the style. At the time I did not realize the microaggression behind the comments.
Why is it important to you to represent real people instead of companies?
As humans, we have fundamental rights and interest that I believe should be prioritized and upheld. A lot of people do not understand their rights and not providing help to real people can leave them voiceless.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to anyone who is being discriminated against at work?
Remain calm, professional and most importantly use your resources. Whether the resource is your HR team or seeking further representation, you have rights and resources available to you.
