Biography
Siphelele is an Attorney at Spitz the Employees Law Firm, where she focuses on protecting the rights of employees. She brings over five years of experience in employment law, litigation, and dispute resolution, including hands-on exposure to the U.S. employment law system.
In her role supporting a U.S.-based firm, Siphelele evaluated claims involving workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation, and conducted research on federal and state employment laws to inform litigation strategy. She drafted demand letters, EEOC charges, motions, and settlement communications, and worked directly with clients to calculate damages, including lost wages and general damages, in employment and personal injury matters. This gave her a practical, comparative understanding of how employee protections are enforced across different legal systems.
Her employment law experience is equally strong on home ground. She has drafted pleadings for the Labour Court and CCMA, prepared legal opinions on labour law issues, and liaised with clients, counsel, and bargaining councils to resolve disputes. She has also advised on workplace policies, disciplinary codes, and compliance procedures, rounding out her experience from both a litigation and advisory perspective.
Before joining Spitz, Siphelele worked across litigation, personal injury, and estate planning, managing cases from initial consultation through resolution, experience that sharpened her legal research, drafting, and case management skills.
Siphelele holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and completed her Practical Legal Training through LSSA LEAD (University of Natal). She is committed to helping employees understand and assert their rights, and to securing fair outcomes for the people she represents.

Why did you decide to practice employment law?
I chose employment law because it directly impacts people’s livelihoods and well-being. I find it rewarding to help employees understand their rights, navigate workplace disputes and seek fair treatment. As someone who has also experienced unfair treatment in the workplace being able to make a difference in people’s life in this area is meaningful.
What’s the most important aspect of the law to you?
The ability to create fairness and provide practical solutions to people’s problems. Whether it’s helping someone understand their rights. resolving a dispute or ensuring that the law is applied consistently.
What was law school like? Did you have any second thoughts along the way?
Law school was challenging but incredibly rewarding. It taught me how to think critically and manage my time correctly. Like many students, there were times when the workload felt overwhelming especially balancing multiple deadlines, but I think it’s normal to have periods where you question yourself and wonder if you’re on the right path. However, I never doubted that I wanted to build a career in law, those challenging moments have helped me developed resilience and discipline which are crucial traits in this field.
