About Me
Tell me about a time when you felt discriminated against, picked on, or bullied and how that impacts how you do your job?
Being a woman in a male-dominated field such as being a lawyer is a challenge that all women must face in addition to the normal challenges in the legal practice. There are times when I have felt that I have not been taken seriously or considered for certain opportunities, as well as being given organizational responsibilities just because I am a woman. This has led me to develop a tougher shell to face these challenges on a daily basis.
What’s the most important aspect of the law to you?
It has always been important for me to know and understand in depth the processes established to enforce our rights, both contentious and all the alternative means by which fair agreements and solutions can be reached.
Why did you decide to practice employment law?
I have always enjoyed helping people, especially those who have been treated unfairly. That is one of the reasons I became a lawyer in the first place. Employment law with a focus on helping employees is an area where a lot of good can be done through knowledge and empathy.
